Dangerous Dog Lists in Spain

Characteristics and Breeds of Dogs included and deemed to be on the Dangerous Dogs Lists in Spain.

Since writing my last post. I did a quick google specifically relating to the laws here in Spain. Very interesting on the different takes and misconceptions as to what breeds are and are not included. The interpretations of the characteristics and how many. Interestingly some articles had interpreted it that if the dog is over 20 kg . that´s it they are a dangerous dog!

So I found the Spanish site http://noticias.juridicas.com which pertains to the laws in Spain.

Here are the lists and it clearly states on list B that the dog must have MOST or ALL of these characteristics to be deemed dangerous! And contrary to many beliefs I have personally encountered, German Shepherd Dogs are not included as is not my Anatolian Shepherd (Mastiff). And indeed it never ceases to amaze me that people just do not realise that GSD´s and my Mastiff are actually ¨Sheep Dogs¨or herding/flock guarding Dogs. Just like a Border Collie. Would people consider putting them on this list!!??

GSD´s are highly intelligent and trainable and therefore frequently used as police and military dogs. In the right hands they are wonderful dogs and always keen to please their owner. In the wrong hands of course, like most dogs they can be turned into a dangerous dog! It is not the dog it is the Human owners that are at fault!

Below to clarify are the lists taken directly from the Spanish website as above on Animal laws.
